FWIW, my cylinder head specialist really likes the Scorpions, especially for the price.

Per his advice, I'm gonna use 1.65 Scorpions on my 535" engine.

I have used the Crower 1.6 full rollers for the past 4 years on a 400. They seem to be bullet proof. No Complaints

YellaTerra did a comparison test of 8 aluminium roller rockers: YellaTerra, StreetTerra, Crane Gold, Crane Hi Intensity, Lunati, Erson, Scorpion, Speed Master.
According to the test:
Only YT used extruded
aircraft quality non anodized surface.
Only YT & ST used oversize trunnions.
Only YT & ST had bearing journals ground. All others were turned.
All had satisfactory roller bore precision finish except for Scorpion & SM.
all had satisfactory pushrod cup finish except for the Scorpion.
Only YT has a 12 month warranty INCLUDING racing.
All had effective ratios to within 0.02 except for the SM which measured 1.57 versus 1.50 published.
the Scorpion had the highest static nose weight of 22 grams. The Crane Gold was lightest at 12.2 grams, then the Lunati 13.5 & then the YT at 14.1 grams.
Scorpion had the largest roller contact patch on valve tip @ 0.115". The YT had the lowest @ 0.066".
In the deflection test, the ST was best @ 0.015"; then the Crane HI Int & the YT @ 0.017"; then the Erson & Scorpion @ 0.018"; worst was the SM @ 0.026".
In the breakage test, the YT was best @ 6.5 tons; next best was Crane Gold & Lunati @ 5.25 tons; then Scorpion @ 5.00 tons. Worst was
SM @ 2.75 tons.
I have also read that anodizing aluminium weakens the stucture
& that is why the YT's are not anodized.
These figures were published 3 years ago.
The YT & ST are Australian made & if in the unlikely event a YT breaks, it is replaced no questions asked.

Yup yup guy, I am only about 5 miles from ya, depending on what part of Anoka your in. Any idea where there is any street racing going on? been looking to get back into the scene. Last time I went out was when they used to run at Red Rock. You ever hear about that?

Are the HS rockers aluminum, and, if so, what does everyone think about using steel instead if it is going to see a lot o' miles?

Scott, do you have an opinion on whether steel (such as the Crower mentioned above) will hold up better with lots of mileage?

I currently have HS 1.5s,1.65s, Norris steel 1.6s, Crower SS 1.8s on various motors. The HS have been on my E heads motor for several years and doing well. When comparing them all side by side the HS do have more bearing to trunnion freeplay than the Crowers or the Norris. My Norris have been on my RAIV motor and raced for 12 years and are around 20 years old. They look a little different than current rocker but as I said older date made. I do like their roller tip pin, pressed and a retainer clip, compared to just a swedged in pin.

The Crowers are by all means the strongest(by look and bearing size) and tightest of the bunch, but the most expensive.

I have only seen pictures of the Scorpions but they look good from pictures.

I've used several sets of Harlan Sharps, and they hold up great.

Ditto to what Scott says.
We sell them too.
Ran them on my street car for years and currently have them on Karen's 79 'ATI ProCharged' T/A with over a years use and daily driven.
