Clean is an understatement for that undercarriage! I'll go out on a limb and say that was not a Midwest driven car. Damn nice find!

What is the build date? Which plant?

The reason I inquire as my 71 with a mid-June build (Pontiac plant) has the 71 fiberglass nose but the 72 grilles. My theory being the Pontiac plant ran short of 71 grilles and started using 72's. Can't see that happening in your car... |

so, the '71 the op posted, has '72 header and grilles?

Yes, I imagine the fiberglass nose got damage at some time and it was replaced with a used front. I can see some slight mod work but nothing behind it looks at all damaged or straightened. The owner I purchased from was a younger guy who only had the car 1-2 yrs and never asked the original owner. He couldn't afford the car any longer as he was not mechanical and had to have all work done at the local shop. Nice guy to deal with and he did me a real favor holding the car for two weeks with small deposit while other offers flooded in. I guess I should find a correct 71 nose and replace the current. |

Nice!
Since you're asking,I'd tear off the generic chrome Eddy garbage (that probably makes it run worse),and at least put a factory intake and quadrajet on it. Sell the MSD box,or put it on a car that needs it. JMO

Man, cars like that are getting so hard to find. I'd commute in that a few days a week.

no need to change anything you don't want to. that thing is so sweet the way it is, I'd just cruise it and enjoy.
