Any info on this old knife made from animal horn?
I've had this thing kicking around the garage for years. I found it at my Great Grandfathers house when we were cleaning it out years ago. It's made from some type of animal horn. I'm guessing a bull? I know my Great Grandfathers father worked as a border agent at the turn of the century. I have his service medals that put him down there around the same time this horn knife was made. He worked down there after serving in WWI

What is the blade made out of? Handle is cow, or the very tip of a longhorn.

It's pretty cool. I have no Mexican lineage in my family, so I'm assuming it was a gift of some sort.

Looks similar to a Gurkha knife.

ACUERDATE DE MI loosely translated means remember me. Had to do with some battle overseas.

Spanish. He probably had the blade memorialized down in Mexico. The battle had a whole bunch of soldiers buried in a mass unmarked grave site. May have been a battle cry back in the day for soldiers.
