Default Just heard Tony Faulk Passed Away

Just got word that Tony passed away. No particulars. 2 stories. One he told me. He took-his new1957 Pontiac Chieftain to new Interstate 80 near Akron for Flying Mile speed trials they were having. He took 2nd place. He went 134.25mph. A factory trailered 58 Chevy went 134.75. The other story my father was hired to build an addition onto Penn State Tool and Die,near Irwin Pa. Tony was working there. At lunch I was eating, I was about 15. Tony started talking to me. I was reading anything about Pontiacs racing I could. He offered to sell me a red 62 Catalina for about $1800.00. He said it was a 4spd, 421,dual fours. I found out it had been one of Andersen Pontiacs-Knafels 'Tin Indians'. He said he had little trouble with the 409s. A kid with a paper route.Another car guy departs this world to the next.

Great stories, condolences to family and friends.

$1800 was a lot of money at that time, still what an opportunity.

Prayers for tony, sorry to hear we lost another Pontiac guy.
I think we’ll be seeing a lot of this sadly the original guys racing this brands powerful cars, are getting to be about that age.

He never said he was on here. I think he kept busy with his cars. He had the red 62 Catalina, The Indian ' He also had a red 62 GP 421 4spd. Besides his business he retired from, Corvette World. I think he told me years ago he had a L88 Corvette. I think minus engine. Could have been associated with Gulf Research racing. He also had a BB 69 Camaro,i dont think it was a Yenko a 396,375. He loved his Pontiacs always at Norwalk. I remember him,I was watching, racing the 62 GP there, getting a .000 light with a 4spd.

He was a nice guy, I sold him a couple rough 62-4speed cars in the mid 80's, had some nice cars.
RIP
