May 5th and 6th. Tucson Dragway Reunion. Hope to make some passes on Saturday. There are always a lot of old drag cars there, but most aren't certified to run down the track.

The owners of our local track can't get along. So, the rumor is that they are going to put the track up for auction, and both guys are going to bid on it. High bidder will reopen the track.
Don't know if any of this is true or not. I do know that the track is usually up & running in March, and it's hasn't opened yet, this year. They spent a lot of $$ & made a lot of nice improvements. Would be a shame if it never opens again. Most of the tracks we use to race shut down many years ago. If they open, I'd like to make a few races this year. The next closest track is about a 2-hour tow from me. Next closest is 3 hours. A 3-hour tow was no problem when I had my own rig. But now I have to bum a ride on a friend's rig. Don't know yet exactly what this year will bring. |

I made it down to four cars yesterday at Northeast Dragway's first points race. I lost to a faster car in the semi, we were both .02X on the tree, but I broke out as he dumped...woulda, coulda, shoulda. I'm real happy with my new E-85 carb tune by Eric Neifert, and my 12 bolt rear has been rewelded and braced, with a new gearset, bearings & hardware. I had a 1.385 60' average for seven passes, and decent R/T's (from the new carb tune). I have the car working good! I'm hoping for a good year.

Went testing yesterday but just made some motor hits. Going on the juice next time out. Ran pretty good for having a 1.48 low gear in the trans.

Since I had to miss the race at VIR last weekend I'm heading to Road Atlanta Monday the 17th for testing.
5+ hours of open track time. Run whenever and however long you want, all day.
