Was the Endura nose available as a separate option in '71? Thanks!

Yes, what Falcon said.

Sales code 602, UPC code T41 $73.72 in 1971, $41.00 in 1972.

It included the "GTO" nose, radiator support, front valance, fenders, and hood.

Believe it was just for the Lemans series.
Don't think the Tempest line could get it - open to correction tho.

The Endura Option is what made me fall in love with Ponitacs. I will never forget looking at 71 models sitting at Benton Pontiac in Cleveland, TN. My dad's cousin owned the dealership and we were there to buy a car for my sister and I to share. There were several 71 GTOs on the lot and I just couldn't take my eyes off that front end. There was a Lucy Blue with blue buckets interior with automatic, center console, AC and Honeys sitting right next to the Adriatic Blue/Cameo White top two-tone LeMans we came home with. I'd love to have a photo of that line of cars from that day. My sister didn't want that 'drag racing console' and hood scoops!! I was drooling over it. Dad knew better than to get me that car.

In 1971 offered only on the Lemans Sport series.

I like that story BJ. It is very similar experience with the 72 GTO that my family bought new.

my dad would never let me buy anything that had a letter or a number in its name that didnt spell a whole word...he was a pretty smart guy, even though he didnt really know much about muscle cars, he knew SS GTO GT 442 GS Z28 etc where trouble for a 16 year old with a lead foot...

Pontiac actually advertised it as the "Endura Styling Option", or simply the LeMans $41 nose job.

Great stuff . . .

Has anyone ever seen or known of - a 72 Lemans with T41 Endura option - and the base 6 cylinder engine ?

That would be a wild oddball if any were built -
and survived the parts car syndrome of the 80's and 90's.

You make no mention of what model you want info on for that year. It could be assumed but, you know what that means.

Question

2 door sedan - post #7 answered my question. Hoping that little 'detail' is lost on current NHRA tech!

Did the '71 nose have the 'flush' grille like the GTO?

Approximately how much heavier is the Endura front end than the standard '71?

Thanks!

yes but it wasnt wire like a GTO, it was the same material as a 72 GTO or lemans, just flush mounted

Don't think I've ever seen that grille - anyone have a good picture of one?

Or one for sale?

Thanks!

Actually I meant a picture of a car with that '71 Endura option (not a GTO).

My '72 GTO (still original owner!) came with a black grille; I parted out a '72 Lemans back in '77 and that had the aluminum colored grille like the one for sale.

Thanks!
