I agree, people way too close to the cars on the line. I once watched a similar event where a car pitched a u-joint, bounced off the ground and destroyed a 17 year old girl's knee cap.

At the track once I watched a car pitch a rod on the line and part of the cap bounced off a wall/rail and broke a guy's collar bone.

And the heck if I would be at the big end!
