Default OK to clamp spring wrap on aluminum line?

I have steel spring wrap around my aluminum fuel line for 6 feet under the car. The car is a driver so I want to protect the fuel line from road debris. The factory clamped the spring wrap around steel tube in certain places. Do you guys think clamping the steel spring wrap around aluminum fuel line will cause wear problems? The tubing is not going to move right? Am I'm overly cautious here? The option is to cut the spring wrap into foot-long sections (line will be clamped about every 13" per spec) and clamp directly to tube. Your thoughts appreciated.

IMO steel on aluminum is an invitation to galvanic corrosion. Probably best to just route line in safe areas as much as possible and make sheilds to protect it where its exposed to dangers of road debris etc..

Oh yeah. You make a great point. Galvanic corrosion. I was kinda hoping the Laws of Physics wouldn't apply here. Thanks for your advice. Thinking of plan B now.

Agree, the steel line guard is a bad idea, for various reasons.

There are plenty of products out there in the marketplace that'll protect the aluminum lines w/o the sortaa problems Bruce pointed out.

I prefer to use insulating line/hose sheathing type products myself.

And the lines will always be moving a little bit, they vibrate like most everything else on the car,so you will need to use aircraft style rubber insulated adel clamps for mounting the aluminum hard lines to the car.

FWIW

You guys saved me from going the wrong way and I'm grateful. And thanks for the links to better alternatives too.
