A couple questions about my 50 Pontiac
Pretty basic but I just want to make sure about a couple things. First, it is a negative ground system isn't it? And second, is the starter the same for an automatic and manual shift transmission?

According to the Hollander interchange manuals:
'49-54 Pontiac, all 6-cylinder use the same starter except PowerGlides* '49-54 Pontiac, all 8-cylinder use the same starter except PowerGlides* *- I wasn't aware that PowerGlidie was ever used in Pontiacs? Yes, these were all 6 volt, negative ground.

Powerglides were used for a few months in '53 Pontiacs (and Dynaflows were used in Caddys and Oldsmobiles) because of the fire . Look here: https://history.gmheritagecenter.com...ire_in_History
