I'm new here so bear with me .{what are those Msg.icons}
My car is a 70 Tempest , 455 ,6X'8 hds.,TH400 with shift kit ,2.78 open rear , 750 Edel carb.
Est. 382HP 456#torque .
I have a 70 Tempest & a 70 Lemans rear . The tempest rear in the car is a 2.78 open rear. It ran 14.146 best 1/4 time .I'm doing a frame swap to the lemans frame and might use the Lemans 3.08 open rear .Both are from 70's but are coded as 69 GTO rears , both are 10 bolt /open .
1st ? .. are these both 8.2 BOP rears or 8.5 ??
2nd ? .. can both be swaped to 3.23
3rd ? .. can they be swaped to 3.55
4th ? ..how much 1/4 time will be seen going from the 2.78 to 3.08 ??
5th ? ..how much 1/4 time going from 2.78 to 3.23?
6th ? .. How much MPG diffenece with these make.

If I go to 3.23 it will be a limited slip.
I know this is alot to ask , but I really need to make an informed decision..
Thanks in advance,,,
Andy

MPG will drop if you go from a 2.78 to a 3.23

If I go to 3.23 it will be a limited slip.
Go with the 3.23 if it is a limited slip, you won't be sorry
