My 5 point harness is out of date at the end of this month, my question is: has anybody had their harness recertified and was it worth it, or should I just purchase a new harness? I also wondered where you would go to have one recertified?

Thanks, Stefan.

You need to call the mfg. (as they are the ones that do the recert.) to see if they are still recertifying their drivers restraint system. Those co. are not recertfying unless you buy new ones then they only want to recert. once.

What brand are they?

I just saw RCI is now going to recert their belts a new way. When you purchase the belts you will recieve a coupon good for one recert. After two years send them in with the coupon and theyll recert them for free. So your now getting four years for the price of two. Its about time.

The RCI belts that have a free re-certify are the Platinum series belts only. They do cost a little more than the normal belts. If you ask Mr PBODY he would tell you Summit just sells parts & they would not be able to give you this information.

Floyd, There should of been a re-certification card in the box with a serial# on it. If there wasn't please call RCI ASAP at 903-581-5976. If they cannot help you let me know.

Scott, just talked to Steve Crane (GM) and he same as told me i'm out of luck. He said every box has the card in it ( mine didn't) and the only way was for me to send the belts back to them at my expense. I don't feel like I should have to remove them, box and send back to them just to get a recert card. He also said that you could call him for more info. Thanks.

Hey thanks for the quick replies. These are RCI belts I ordered from summit, but by the time I ship them and pay for the recert, I'm not sure it's just not easier to order new one's.

Thanks again, Stefan.
