it feels like im running out of gas. it will happen in all 3
gears, and right around 3500-4000 it just falls on its face, come off
the gas and it picks right up again. it happens at the same rpm in all
three gears. i think it is the gas, but dont know where to check. it is a 67 400 with a tripower setup. only the center 2 bbl is on and operational. its fine til i get to that point. any ideas. i havent ruled out the chances of it being the ign, but...

What year is the Tri Power? if you are using a 65 they use a small center carb and that may be your problem, all the big engine 65 2bbl used a big bore 2bbl the same type as the 66 Tri Power center carb. If it is your center carb there are many different 2bbl Pontiac carbs that will work in place of the original Tri Power center carb if you have a 66 setup.

Did your car cut out before putting on the Tri-power?

sounds like the carb is running out of fuel . have you checked the filter ? if so how about fuel delivery[ amount from pump in 30 seconds of run time]? mike
