Default suspension

Currently I have stock suspension, but have a 2 inch lowering spring set from bmr. Their rear upper adjustable arms and lower arms. Car is street strip. Not sure on power. The shop that helps me out with the stuff above my head said that the new set up would be good. My question is should I make the switch to coil overs. I've never owned a vehicle with them so I am not familiar. Or in my application is it just a waste if money.

Is the current configuration keeping you from say a given tire size? Changing to coil overs in it self will gain nothing all by it self. If there is some sort of interference because of the stock setup then it is time to look at changing things. K.I.S.S is always the best way in my book.

Kiss lived by that for years. Went with what I had in the garage. Car dropped a Lil more then advertised. But so far so good. It's been in project mode for a year now, it's feels good to be just about done. Here is the stance now

Really like the stance. What size is your front tire?

So I have a question. Before lowering and changing everything it was a nice smooth quiet ride. Currently from a dead stop if I step on it there is no noise but if I catch a bump it feels like some one is hitting the underside with a hammer. Driving on the street you can here a pounding sound. Pinion angle is -2 drive shafts isn't hitting wheels aren't rubbing. Could it be with it lower I am at the end of my shocks travel? Got two days off so going to look at it but any help would be great

Sounds like you are bottoming out the shocks.

Cool If the noise is a metallic 'thud' I'd agree with Ron H

But check for something hitting the ground, too. Telltale will be the scrape marks.

I had a set of 'stop-hop' bars once that just lightly touched the floor above the differential on hard bumps. That took me a while to figure out....

Good luck!

As low as that front end is sitting, the crossmember very likely could be making contact on bumps. As mentioned above, fresh scrapes should be noticeable if that's the case.

You didn't mention if you had no-hop bars on the back, mine make occasional contact, too.

I spent all my time looking at the length of the drive shafts the few minutes I had this week. I jacked up the car and was quite evident. More flexible in these new tires I guess but bottom of shock is hitting edge of the rim on both sides. Thanks for the help. 1st car I built. Well paid for a lot but try to do as much as I can. Hopefully I can finish it before my vacation and I can finally get to the track as she what it can do.
