Time for new springs in the rear 1971 LeMans Convertible
All, I have read a few older posts about the MOOG springs and a few of the other specialty spring makers and they have been very helpful. Thanks guys!
Has anyone put coil overs in the rear? JEGS has the shocks and springs, but I need to weigh the 4 corners of the car to get a correct spring rate I guess. This is no longer a show car, I just want to enjoy it now. Thanks, Mark |

I bought Ames S364 firm ride springs and used a 1 inch spacer on top of the spring. It has the level I want (not sagging, level), and comfort of the ride is great. I installed, I believe Spectrum OER gas shock (stock style, nothing fancy) ordered from my local parts house, and it works well.

I used McBay Performance 1" spacer on top of spring for increased ride height. Actually, it made the car level. I was told by another member this actually helps when the weight of the top is stored down.

I do notice the sag the most when the top is down and another couple in the back seat. I never realized a spacer was made for this problem. I am going to have to look up both the spacer and the Viking coilovers. Thanks guys!
