Default 66 door lower door corners

Has anyone used a re-pop door skin as a donor to just repair the front and rear lower corners? Curious as to the fit. I would like to keep my original door shell and just replace the lower corners. If possible.
Thank you
Joe

For something as simple as replacing an outer skin corner, most people who do that type of work would just use some sheet steel to make their own patch rather than buying and shipping a whole skin and then cutting a small patch section out of it. It's pretty straightforward work.

I've been through this on my 67....made my own patches rather than purchase door skins.

Agreed... fabricate some patches from suitable sheetmetal.

thanks to all for the feedback. Due to how far up the front corner has pin holes I think I am going to replace the whole skin.
Thanks again,
Joe

Probably wise. There’s a great chance that you have hidden rust along the bottom edge.

Hello,
vs. buying a complete skin I received one of those lower full length pieces. It goes up from the bottom of the door about 7 inches. I only need to go up from
the bottom about 4.5 inches. Any thoughts on those before I start to cut up the original door skin? Thanks again.
Regards,
Joe

Much easier to change the skin than put one of those on.

Because of the lengthy weld bead Steve?

Yes, Greg. I've seen similar sections for other car doors and none had the proper curvature, usually too flat.
