I have a nice set of original top and bottom tanks for a '66 with A/C, auto (4-row core). Just put flat plastic plugs in the a/t fluid cooler and ignore it.

$200 plus shipping from SoCal.

I might have a spare fan for that car. Need to look.

So i am interested just gotta make sure 66 will work which I think it will ac core should be 17 1/2 inches from bottom of top tank to top of bottom tank. I know you said you have the tanks is anything left of the radiator that we can make sure it measures 17 1/2 inches or just the tanks.? Can you send me some pictures and if you have the fan that would cool, and we are talking about original Harrison right which I think we are.

So the little bit of research I did seems to be 66 AC radiator will fit 67 ac. i’m definitely not a Radiator expert by no means so if you have knowledge that it will work then definitely want them. hopefully you have the fan too.

For sure '66 and '67 rads are interchangeable. These tanks come from the orig rad from my '66 GTO with A/C, and that rad was most definitely 17.5" tall, as the car has the core support with the lower channel hollow facing UP. The 15.5" cars had the core support with the channel facing down. I unsoldered the tanks because the core was scrap and that would have been expensive to ship (and store) that way. I bought the car from the orig owner with 87k miles in 1987 and it still had its orig rad back then.

Did a quick look for the fan but couldn't find it. Need to look in my parents' shed.

OK they look pretty good. I heard Harrison made a 3 row core for a/c car and a 4 row core. I was wondering if you remember when you took the rad apart if it was a four Row or or not? If it is a four row core I want to purchase the tanks.. I am new to this forum just wondering how we go about transaction?

No '66 or '67 GTO with A/C ever had a 3-row core. They were all 4-row. And the A/C cars were all 17.5" tall. As were the non-A/C '67 HO cars.

Before you commit to buying these tanks, go find a radiator shop who you can trust who can set you up with a 4-row core and is willing to solder my tanks to that core. Shops like that are hard to find nowadays. Don't settle for some fly-by-night place which will sell you an offshore core with wide fin spacing. Do some research to see what cores are available today. The closer the fin spacing, the better the core will reject heat.

Send me a PM with your email and I'll help you figure out how to get this sale done, provided you have a good handle on the above.

Couldn't tell from your profile where you're located, but I use an old-time radiator shop in Bloomington, IN. They recored my original Harrison for my '67 for a very reasonable price (WAY less than a repro from anyone). I don't know if they do shipping, but if you're in the region, they are an option.

Sounds like you're in good shape. When I had mine recored, the guy said he could do it but "it would probably be very expensive". I had already priced new radiators at Ames, etc., so when he told me it would be $250 for the job, I jumped at it. It looks just like the original now, but with no leaks or weeps.
Good luck.

For some reason, I thought you were a young kid! Anyway, PM does mean Private Messages. Reason for using PM is so that you don't have to put any personal identifying info into this public forum. Send me a PM with your email address (and phone if you'd also like to talk about it).

The way you send a PM is to go near the top of this page where the pull-down shortcuts are. Select "Quick Links" and in there is the link to PM's. That takes you to the PM center. Then along the left side, it says "Private messages" and then "Send New Message".

Non A/C HO cars had the shorter 4 row core, it was the RA cars that used the taller A/C radiator.

Welcome to the forum!
Good morning rockdoc now that you have had your Harrison Rad recored have you had any hot running issues or does she run properly? Just curious because I am on the fence on an Harrison recore or going to aluminum rad. Your thoughts greatly appreciated.

Everything runs cool (perhaps too cool?), although I did install a new cast-impeller water pump and adjusted the divider plates. The latter may have been the most important. There are several posts on the forum about this. My temperature gauge doesn't budge, even with the AC on in mid-summer.

I try to keep my car as original as possible, and I love how the radiator looks, and how it doesn't leak a drop.

I'm using the original fan for an AC car with no mods.

Don't think anyone clarified that 15-1/2" and 17-1/2" is the core height and not overall height. That info might help someone reading through this.

You should post in the parts wanted section and also on the GTO forum, which is more active these days than this one.
