Default Early distributors

I'm doing some cleanup and consolidation, and I've got a question about early car distributors. In the 80s, I bought a bunch of early 347s and 389s for the forged rods. I also saved the distributors off those cars because they were cast iron vs the aluminum later distributors.

Is there any market for these, or are they just scrap metal?

Maybe there is.

Price them reasonably and advertise them here, then see if there's any response.

Don't just toss them, but have patience with these and any other items you consider to be less popular.

What is a reasonable price? Shipping runs about $12 up, depending on where it is going.

They'll fit in a USPS Medium Flat Rate Box no problem.

Somewhere around $25 is where I'd value them.

How many would you like for that?

Thanks but I have all the early iron distributors that I'll ever or never use already.

Good luck with your parts liquidation endeavors.

FYI 1955 1956 units are considerably different than 57 and newer. The 55-56 have advance mechanism below the breaker plate. Not sure if later cap and rotor can be used on the 55-56. Also factory oriented advance can on passenger side relative to flat on lower housing.(flat orients to rearmost lifter galley on passenger side for best oiling of distributor gear on ALL Pontiacs)

See Page 12-23 and 12-31 http://www.pontiacsafari.com/L1Early...nstruments.pdf for pics etc of 55-56 distributors

Later cap won't work on 55-6 distributors.

They are all 1958 - 1962. Those are the engines I bought for the rods. Most of them are 1961-1962.

After ten years, I decided to try Ebay again. I just listed a NOS 64 GTO pulley. If it goes OK, I may throw a few other parts on there.
