061 heads
Does anyone know what the machined holes are for in the rocker studs on stock 061 heads? I pushed a few studs and saw the holes. Was curious.

They’re leftovers from back in 1964 when Pontiac heads had rocker arms that oiled through the studs, by 1965 all Pontiac heads oiled the rocker arms through the pushrods.
Either they’re leftovers (numbering in the millions) or the design never changed on press-in rocker studs.
