Thumbs up Converter update

Just a Little update on my 9" Ultimate Conv, My 60's this year in good air were 1.41-1.42, but as it got warmer out it really started falling off, so i was thinking something happened to sprag, 1.52-1.54. So I sent it in to lenny at Ultimate and he looked at it, and couldn't find anything wrong, so I had him set it up more for this combo and the dyno sheet, loosening it, so i could leave higher without pushing thru beams while on the brake. I had been leaving at 2500 and it was 60 fting great as i said above , but once it warmed up tho summer heat stuff it really fell off. So This sat i left at the same 2500 and it was a tad better at 1.50-1.52, 10.41.Shifted higher first run at 6500, second run same 6300 which gave more mph 129.13, compared to 128.84@6500.Drops about 800 on a 6300 shift to 5500. I was ok better ,but not what I expected , so after trying some jetting and that not doing anything, I went back to my same jetting in the first runs 92 square, and turned it up to 3000, and it went 1.44@10.30@129.26... and has the day warmed up only dropped to 1.45, I stayed with the current tire pressures i had been running so no additional tuning there yet at 14.5.... I am pleased with the outcome and she should really sing come fall weather! and its tight up top still going thru just above 6500!!

Sounds good!

What do you think the stall speed is for it now?
(flash stall?)

I would think a higher stall speed would help a lot for your combo.

John I wanted Lenny to loosen it up to about 53-5400, I'll have to throw a camera on my tach and watch it sometime...

Good 60 foots for the combo. Basically an off-idle launch with a real hi-stall converter right?

my hi -idle was about 1500 rpm to off-idle on a 2800-3200 10" converter, tight for Street and felt like a clutch dump on the launch.

Not getting that effect with the Switch-Pitch in either stall position.

I think a tranny brake would help a lot.

You already have a 2 step, why not a brake?

My dig 6 has one built in, my shifter is only for a forward pattern, n I'm ok with no TB for now, it's leaving well on the FB.
