I would be interested in a set for my 65 I am restoring.
I think they are one of the coolest looking heads out there.

Do you have any idea what they flowed? I have not seem any early Chrysler Hemi head or after market head (no matter how it was reworked) that flows more than what is available for the Pontiac now. That does not mean that a redesigned hemi head like the KRE does not.

Fully assembled Tiger race heads are selling for +-6K$.
I dont think there would be a huge 'street' market for a Hemi heads. Costs, mainly. We're talking about what, 7-8K$ just for the top end? Maybe more. Customs headers and whatnot. And I guess the bottom end, specifically pistons, would need some kind of customization to get the most of the Hemi head design. People are building 600+HP street engine combos with readily available, off-the-shelf parts. With very limited/decent budget. This should be aimed at the race crowd IMO. People with more budget and access to monitoring equipment. Even then, can a Hemi head be more successful than any other high performance aluminum heads? You can get 320cfm E-Heads for 2500$ complete. Its very 'niche' market. Same as the RAV. |

You could try contacting these people and see if they can make some core changes and machine for a Pontiac block.

Flow isnt the best advantage of a hemi... The chamber offers combustion control you cant acheive with other chamber designs WHEN run to the edge of fuel limitations.
Hot heads has valve cover and intakes for the early Dodge Desoto and Chrysler hemi derivatives. There are other items that could be adapted. I've been involved in a few early Hemi projects especially this past year. Dodge Desoto and Chrysler. Neat stuff indeed. |

I guess we start at 10 grand and go up to 20 to play at that level.

I know you said Aluminum, but contact Chad Speier who is a member here and see if he can make this fit a Pontiac. He has done a head from a raw casting (Iron) that goes around 460 cfm @ 1.000" lift on a 4.185" bore with I believe a 2.30" Intake valve.

Hemi heads. An answer to a question no one asked.

The exact design of the M/T head would be a tough project for a street car.Maybe Jack or Steve will jump in.Notches have to be ground into the block to clear the push rods.Fritz welded blocks that were ground through. The factory made special blocks for the hemi heads, iron blocks were thicker in that area for the task and I have seen special alu blocks made with notches cast in for it.In fact I know a guy that had or has a pair of them. Also if you think clearance is a problem for power brakes the hemi will be a nightmare. As a race head for a blower and fuel they would be killer.Again, JMHO.Tom
