Stocker engine, gettin close...
Stocker block, ready to go... I back cut 2nd rings, today , on lunch...took me about an hour... I cant wait to get to the point, of assembly... Building a Stocker combo, is something ive wanted to do , for almost 30 years...Crank, pistons , and rods, are ready to roll...Crank was done by Harts Machine, in Ohio... Piston skirts were coated by Swain coatings(Venolia)...It oughta run...hehe! Heads are next.

Brent might give John Schloe a call for some tips. He's been doing it for a long time and his '69 bird sporting D ports goes pretty darned fast. Has his chassis well scienced out.
He gave me the lobe numbers for his RAIV cam-I sure had no V-P with it so it's on the shelf-he had a few tricks like offset dowels to locate valve exactly on the piston relief to help him.

Im working on getting the right oil rings, this week, and then i can start with assembly... Top rings, and 2 rings are fitted( i back cut 2nd ring, myself... ) ... I cant wait to get this thing together... Heads will be started on, this week... THe guy , doin my machine work, has built several record holders, Buicks and Pontiacs... Itll be up to me, as far as how much tuning, and swapping parts, how this thing ends up. Ive got a pretty good cam, to start with... May end up with a slightly bigger duration, before its all over. ...

THats alot of cam! I wonder how high he buzzes that thing, to get it to run...? I have a 275/276 Solid, in my bird...i leave at 2400, and shift at 5800... but, im runnin a 455... that seems like alot of cam , for a 400/auto...It must work, though! Lots of converter, and atleast a 4.88, i bet...
