It's very pretty out this morning! Nice dry snow.

We're down visiting our daughter in Madison, WI. Drove my grandson in to work this morning and had a good time busting through the snow drifts. A little later I'll be outside teaching our daughter how to use her Christmas present - a new Husqvarna snowblower.

There hasn't been a snow worth firing it up since Christmas and she openly admitted that she could use a refresher course.

While some people fear snow, others revel in it.

Well I am yup I 75 last exit before Canada. The new year brought use a couple inches of snow every week. It has been cold. In the negative almost every night. Last night was -15. Highs do get in the low teens, most of the time. when all your snow removal equipment is taking up a spot where a Pontiac should be you really consider moving.

Same as Champ,I actually enjoy snow.
We'll be leaving for church in an hour,so we'll drive the 4x4 Suburban or truck instead of a car. When it stops snowing/blowing I'll plow the driveway, another no brainer.
I've been downhill skiing for over 40 years, but had not been out for a few years till last weekend. I told my kids how much I missed this, and would like to go again when we get some more powder, now we'll have some.
PS-wife and kids are kind of amazed how well the fat old man skis. Kind of like riding a bicycle if you ask me.

We live right down on the shore of Lake Michigan, we're getting a bit of a blizzard up here. But it's ok, been a fairly mild winter up here for the most part...

I feel for all of you. Right now it is 74 and I am thinking about a top down cruise in the 67!

Pulled 3 people out of the ditch on the way home from church. Made my kid hook the chains up as I had my fancy clothes on.
We have about 6" on the ground, still snowing, and I'm about 1 mile in from the lake,so I'm supposed to get lake effect all day too. 35 MPH gusts out of the east.

Its not like its a blizzard. Its just continuous snow since it started around 9pm last night. We probibly have about 7-8" on the ground and its still snowing. I just got back from running a couple of errands and the roads aren't that bad. I think this kinda storm is easy to keep up with.

Now 12" predicted before midnight for Racine and Kenosha counties with blizzard warnings in both -Bring it on baby!
Paul,is it windy down by you? Roads here are really bad. I wouldn't drive a car at all at this point. Just got back from Menards, and lots of stuck cars out there.

Snowing in the Motor City. School closings are starting to roll in.

My wife is a teacher; there's no living with her on nights like this.

Just got the call. No school. Momma's doing the happy dance.

That's one of the downsides of working for GM Truck: no snow days.

Another round of snow blowing after the game. Looks like we got 12" so far.

No snow this far East so far. Just cloudy. Last forecast for us is we're "supposedly" [my word not theirs] going to see only rain. North of us it's a different story.

No need for that thing...

After I gave my daughter her lesson on how to operate her snowblower it was time for me to head home to MN. I hadn't taken our AWD Pontiac Torrent, just our FWD car.

Drove the 220 miles home to MN from Madison. Trip was uneventful and only saw two cars that found their way into the ditch. I did have one idiot in a 4WD that was paranoid of the snow - driving 30 MPH on a 55 MPH two lane highway. Luckily it was only a couple of miles before I was able to get by. The drive took about 15 minutes more than usual - due to the driving conditions.

When I got home, I parked the car on the street because I had to fire up my Husqvarna AWD articulating rider with the 42" snow blower and take care of the 6 - 20" of snow in my driveway so I could get the car into the garage.

I enjoyed the drive and the snow removal. Probably have to clear the driveway again in the morning before I head out to NW IA for work.

You must not be getting the wind off the lake down there, it's crazy up here. Lot of drifting and gusty winds, looks like a snow-globe out there.
