Default Confused on brackets for Quadrajet & 2004R

I’m confused on what brackets are needed for a 2004R with a Quadrajet. Backstory, I have a ‘67 LeMans with a 2 barrel 326 that I’m converting to a Quadrajet & cast iron manifold. I’ll be swapping out the ST300 for a 2004R & dual gate His and Hers shifter. I guess that I’ll need a new throttle bracket, possibly a new throttle cable & the conversion kit from Shiftworks but wanted to confirm exactly what I’ll need for the project. What’s the best way to configure this since I have to purchase everything anyway?

This is what I did to accommodate a 200-4R TV cable behind a 1972 manifold in my '67 LeMans. I had to weld the TV cable flanges to the existing throttle cable bracket and quadrajet throttle arm but the alignment was true and operation is smooth. The arm's spring hole was at an angle that the TV cable attatchment would work so I added another section to provide a mount for the TV cable hook. I've been running it this way for at least 20 years.

thanks for posting pics though I could only open 2 of the 3. am building a 66 Lemans using a 400 w/q jet and 200od trans and this will helpful. the fact you have been using this for 20 years proves it must be a good set up as well. Though have used 700s on other applications, this will be my first time using a 200. the TV set up looks about the same.

I guess I also missed that there needs to be something attached to the throttle arm on the Quadrajet as well. I’m not a welder so I assume I’ll need to find something for this as well?

I think years ago I picked up a couple of GM brackets that fit on the back 2 bolts of the Q jet . I think one might still have a part Number on it . Up in the attic.

1981-88 GM RWD should have these brackets stock if equipped withan auto.

If you use a '76-up Q-jet, it will already have the correct TV cable arm. Then find an 80's Olds 307 cable housing bracket which goes over the rear two bolts of the Q-jet. You'll have to cut off the upper half which is for the throttle cable, since you'll be using the stock Pontiac cable housing bracket.

I had exactly the above combination on my '66 GTO before I injected it, so I know it works.

This would be how I'd go about it also. Part of the recipe to do it cleanly is the '72-up intake which has the bolt bosses for the throttle bracket cast in the updated location. The '71-earlier manifolds are different. When you couple that with a mid-late 70's 800+cfm Q-jet and convert to electric choke, it's a pretty clean install for a OD equipped street engine/car.

The 307 Olds bracket is a good idea too.

I think that is the bracket I bought from GM years ago.

Unfortunately I already have the manifold (1970) & Quadrajet (1973) so I’d have to adapt everything that I have to make it work. I think I can still use the same bracket that bolts to the carb for the TV cable if I find one & just cut the top off so I can use my original accelerator cable & bracket but I’m not sure what I need to add to the Qjet arm for the TV cable.
