R89 w/ topper
Saw this at a swap the other day, the guy cut the case top off, used a topper, and real caps, the topper caps are crappy. The eye is red too on the topper which looks bad. This battery he did looked pretty good. This had some small battery inside

Very Interesting. Has anyone taken a reproduction R89 battery, cut it open and replaced maintenance free battery inside? I have a few R89's that I would like to do this to but was more inclined to cut open the bottom since it would be less noticeable.

While back bought a R89 battery topper, been watching for a used up R89 battery to do the exact same thing.
