Question '67 Vacuum Dashpot Adjustment

I have one of these vacuum diaphragm dashpots on my 67 GTO automatic. I can't find anything about how to adjust it.

I think I remember seeing something about getting idle speed and curb idle set then adjust the threaded part of the dashpot until it touches the bracket + 2 turns more(??)

I don't know if that's right or not, it has been a long time. There is nothing I could find in the Pontiac service manual, of course I could have missed it.
Anyone remember how to set this thing?

Thanks!

Did you ever find information or documentation on that dashpot adjustment?

John, I saw your post over on the HAMB. There are a couple carb gurus on this site that might be able to answer the question if you post it here.
I’d start a new thread

The adjustment instructions are in the Pontiac Chassis Service manual. 64,65,66, & 67 manuals all target ~1050 RPM [(1030 to 1080RPM) after the Throttle Return Check (dashpot) vacuum hose is disconnected and plugged with the engine warmed up..

Check if the dash pot holds a vaccum The diaphrams do tear and will leak due to its age and wear. The 67 quadrajet version is unique due to the bracket and is not serviceable; however, you can get them functional by substituting a diaphram from the still available 2 barrel or carter 4 barrel if you modify the rolled edge to screw together. A 1-72 thread works well.
