I have one body bushing bolt cage nut that has broken inside the cage and the bolt is just turning. It is on the driver side, the one inside the cowl.
I do not have a cutting torch but I was thinking maybe get one to do the job. I thought I would try to cut the cage and the grap the nut with vice grips. Any suggestions on what I can do to get the bolt out. Also, how would one weild a new cage in? Will the access hole need to be larger to clean the metal to weld one in? Any suggestions on this issue would help? |

Sometimes you can jam a chisel in there to hold the nut , then use an air gun/impact wrench to get the bolt out.
Believe there are other good ideas if you try a search on here. Been a while since i've played with one. |

I would suggest an angle grinder with a thin cut off wheel. Cut three sides to get in there with vise grips, then lay the metal back flat to weld back up when done. You can use the angle grinder for lots of other things to.
If on a dirt cheap budget you can use a hole saw to get in there and then cover with a plastic or metal hole plug. |

I had that problem too. I opened the cage and tack welded the nut to the floor.
