That looks good flat black, with the rest of the outside trim back on killer look.

Default Looks good....

I like flat black cars. I'd like to cobble together a flat black rat rod some day.

thanks for the compliments. She will in fact be getting paint, I'm just in the mock up stage currently. When I bought the car it was in boxes. So far I've rebuilt the suspension. lowered it with eibach springs and kyb shocks. I also converted it to disk brakes, installed a engine and transmission.. rewired it, put the body back together and installed the glass. here are some more pictures.

Congratulations BLUE67gto! Tyrol is my color as well. That's quite a feat bringing it this far out of boxes. Is this your first GTO? What's the history on the car, was it parked in your yard for 20 years or did you buy it off someone that gave up on it?

It's not my first 67 pontiac a-body, but it its my first GTO. Well, this is kinda a long story. I'll start from the beginning. Originally when I turned 16 about nine years ago. as a first car I had a rusty 67 tempest custom convertible. red on red with a white top. I swapped in a low miles 400 from a 67 gto, instead of the stock aging 326. A month later a th-350, in place of the blown powerglide(still had reverse though...that's how I got it home) during this time i bought a 72 blazer to drive(which i still have) So I decided to gut the interior to fix the rust, realized I was in over my head and sold it.

About three months before i sold it, My Friend one grade ahead of me bought a mostly complete 67 gto out of a Barn. Story was it was a drag car being returned back to stock, it's A 4-speed with a 4:11 posi. But the owner lost interest. I think it was missing the windshield, column, and shifter. It had been sitting since about 1987 at that point. He tore it apart to restore. When he went off to college. I bought it from him, right before my senior year of high school. It took a fullsize van, a fullsize pickup and a rollback to get it home. At that point it was a shell, no glass,no doors, nothing. I realized I was just going to need to get it rolling while I gathered parts. So I assembled the body. And started gathering parts. It took my 4 years to find a almost perfect complete original 4-speed shifter. I also parted a 67 lemans, moved 3 times, Did A lot of mock up reassembling to figure out what fit where. And traded and hunted for parts. I did all the work myself with the help of a few friends, which includes rebuilding the suspension Lowering it 1 1/2 inches and switching to disk brakes. Installing the engine and trans, I installed a pypes stainless exhaust with cutouts. Rewired the car using a painless kit. I have all the trim, a complete black interior to install and a rebuilt 455 waiting in the wings. I have 6,000 dollars including purchase in it as it sits. 7,000 with the 455. I am going to paint it myself, install the interior, swap in the 455 and have a blast. I couldn't be happier.

It's an awesome feeling to start/drive a car that's been sitting for all those years. I got mine on the road about 2 months ago & have been driving it every chance I get. Just took it to the video store last night to pick up some movies.

Good luck with finishing your GTO.

I still have a ton to do to mine, but ran out of $$.

Good luck with your project! Working on your own car can be 1/2 the fun of owning it & makes you feel real good about the car when it's done.

I'm starting to think about shaving the chrome along the bottom, as mine is in sad shape. I've got some rust to repair and some holes in the fenders/quarters from 69 gto side markers. I don't think I'm going to put the GTO emblems back on the quarter panel either. Does anyone know if the "Hurst equipped" badge will fit the stock holes on the trunk lid?
