Default Speedmaster valvelift

I have assembled my Speedmaster cylinder heads with 1.8" springheight. Added valve spring cups, Comp valve locks and quality valve seals as an upgrade. Springs are the ones supplied by Speedmaster.
Speedmaster says 0.580" is maximum valve lift.
I meassure 0.776" retainer to seal clerance.
My cam will lift 0.619 with 1.65 rockers. Any good reason why that should not work out fine?

A limit stated for valve lift in terms of a spring is in regards to two things .

The first and most important is the .060"coil bind clearance spec.

The second is in terms of valve spring life and them maintaining there seat pressure .

Is your Cam a solid?

If so is that .619" lift with the lash factored in?

Retainers have been found to defect under open valve load to the tune of .010" to .013" depending on the spring pressure applied.

The average push rod will deflect .003".

Just right there your .619"lift is down to .606"

Note that these numbers are static, so in a running motor things will change as parts heat up. One things are fully up to operating temps and the valves get longer which will extend your installed height everything maybe fine or you might get your ass chewed.

So will your .580" lift be ok? Maybe, but I would still want to start off with a coil bind clearance of no less then .050"

I posted specs on my HR springs awhile back here. There seemed to be a lot of clearance before coil bind. Might double check seat pressure we shimmed them up to get 150 seat.
