Alternator pully
Anyone know where i can obtain a 3" or 3 1/2" pulley.Stock pulley is 2 1/2" and takes too much belt tension to prevent sqeeling using the duralast 1352-6-3 105 amp inwhich destroyed front alt bearing. It has a lifetime warranty but i hate to tear another one up .yes serpentine whould be the way to go.

That style alternator had rear bearing problems. It was usually the rear that would get destroyed. Probably a defect bearing. You have a warranty. Why not try again. A bigger diameter pulley would lower the output curve.

3 inch Delco pulley. Number 8 size. very uncommon size. Corvette used wider pulleys than this and they also had a deep groove meaning wider belt capability. A Vet pulley may be what Tom got on ebay.

I would like to questioning if you don’t mind why you need such a high amperage Alt in the first place?
At idle are you running A/C, Rad fans, high beams on and a cranked out 1100 watt stereo?

Running stock size v belt for alternator, replaced serpentine pulley with stock v pulley.Old style 10si couldn't keep up with elec trans cooler fan,in tank fuel pump, blower motor ,wipers volts would drop to 12.5 at cruise at idle 11.5 -12.Will check summit

cogged vee belt for PS, but smooth or cogged Gates (if you can find it) for Alt. Definitely helps to find that larger Pulley. I got all mine from the u-pull-its.

A larger diameter pulley will lower your output at any speed, so if your output is not at 14 volts now at cruise and idle with the loads you have it definitely will not be better with a larger diameter pulley. With any alternator, current output INCREASES with alternator shaft speed to a limit at about 6000 RPM shaft speed. Increasing pulley size reduces your shaft speed at a given engine RPM.

CS130s are known to bearing failures, the bearings are too small.
A 4" pulley will definitely lower your output, especially at idle, and you will be right back to where you started. I would suggest a 12si type, my go-tos are the PowerMaster 7294 & the 47293 (100a/150a respectively). .

12Si is a great choice, but a 10si can easily be built to handle the load if the battery sized and up to the tasks.
