Was the ratcheting shifter standard, or an option with the floor shifter?
My new to me ‘70 lemans sport has the ratcheting floor shifter. Was this an option, or were all the floor shifters like this?

Referred to as Rally Shifter.
Opening is wider for shifter operation. I know 69 had it available also. Sent from my Moto Z3 Play using Tapatalk

My fathers 69 GTO he bought new came with this shifter, and there is nothing mentioned about it and no additional cost on the original paperwork or window sticker.
Leads me to believe it was standard equipment on his car. Not sure if this varied on other cars. |

My understanding is in 69 Pontiac made there own ratchet shifter before in 68 they used Hurst his and hers ratchet shifter. Both work really well never miss a shift.
