Default Exhaust idle notes

Thought this might be helpful to those contemplating exhaust set up. My cars evolution.

Initial set up. ram air manifolds, 2.25 pipe, rattler mufflers. Tail pipes out rear. 60916 crower cam and 421 ho heads
https://youtu.be/usxSPokW0fs?feature=shared

Initial upgrade. Ram air manifolds, 2.25 pipes, dynomax ultraflows. Tail pipes side exhaust. Crower 60919 and kre d port heads.
https://youtu.be/fC30rf5CCM0?si=GgrHDyM9RYW4Uu7j

Most recent upgrade. Doug’s headers, 3 inch pipe, Sonoma’s ultraflows, x pipe, side tailpipe exit. 60919, kre d port. https://youtu.be/FlMAkukTOmE?feature=shared

Puttsing around the new exhaust is much deeper sounding and you can hear the cam
More at idle.

While there are some other winter upgrades making it hard to isolate- the car is running a lot faster with the new exhaust set up. I was torn in doing it- read a lot about headers vs rar manifolds. I had mandrel turn downs with the 2.25 too. But no question the new exhaust set up was worth it.

Your last setup is exact same as mine except mines run out the back. I love the sound!

Ha. I saw that typo. Autocorrect converted “dynomax” into Sonoma. Go figure…

Sounds great…I’m a long time fan of dynomax mufflers… curious what size case are your ultra flows? I’m about to buy some for my 65… I’m a lil on fence whether to use welded case ultra flows,or there turbos …
