seat belt restoration
I'm looking to have the deluxe seat belts in my 66 GTO redone, any recommendations on where to send them?

I see that Gary has a set for sale on Ebay, not a bad price for a restored set, but I want to keep my original buckles with my car. Ssnake Oyl sent me this estimate with an 8 -10 weeks build time, probably will go this route. From Ssnake Oyl,: "I assume these are the deluxe gold coach pushbutton? If everything is restorable about $150 for retractable per person, $125 for non-retractable per person. Anything that needs replaced would be quoted separately."

By chance what color of '66 Deluxe belts are you looking to have rewebbed/restored?

They're black belts with the brushed look buckles and I think a gold carriage on them. I'll post a picture tonight, when the boss gets home with the smart phone.

Here's what I have, pretty clean buckles, except the webbing is stuck on 3 of them, must be a little rust inside, not sure.

Several how to's on youtube, showing you how to take the buckle apart and clean the gunk out of it. The roller has probably got rust build up on it so it can't release.

I once did the soak in woolite and wash in machine set on gentle
each belt was inside an old sock to keep them from beating each other up. Belts were soft and pliable. Protect the labels if you want to retain them

Good ideas, I'll try the Woolite soak first, and if that doesn't work, I'll disassemble one and see what's going on with it. Thanks!

Just to say it out loud, webbing can and does wear. Dying is troublesome, doesn't last very long, and can bleed.

After looking them over, the buckles are all good and don't nee restoring, but I'd like to go ahead and have the webbing replaced. I'll try and free them up and use them till I send them off to Ssnake Oyl
