Gas Tank Dating??
Never thought to look for date codes on gas tanks. But noticed this apparent date code on my 05D '70 V.N. TA's tank while it was out for a new sending unit (again) and cleaning. I'm interpreting this as 19th week of 1970 rather than simply 1970, as it reads.
Dealership had apparently added some undercoating and they covered most all the bottom and sides. Fortunately, this did preserve most of the original finish.
I'll post another about the stencil I found too.
