That's what they are, about half the thickness of the orignals. You can't even get a good freeze plug any more as they are about half the thickness as they were a few years ago. I had a set of freeze plugs laying around that i got from H-O Racing 15 years ago and never used, they are much thicker than the ones you get today and we used them in my new street engine that is sitting on the dyno now.
