I don't think it's anything like a bracket race?
They don't have a breakout rule?
(they get docked on their index if they go to fast)
So, if you're faster than what you are dialed in at, you hope your opponent isn't faster than his dial in difference.
It's just more 'thinking' one has to do.
(never been class racing)
