I seem to remember that everyone on this board loved H or X pipes a few years ago. I don't remember the "they make more power" argument - that doesn't make any sense to me, I thought it was always done for sound.
I've had headers and 3" "true dual exhaust" pipes for several years now with them exiting behind the rear wheels. It's loud, and that was the goal.
