Scoot70...what's the black wire next to the yellow wire that has burn spots? If that's a plug wire, you may be arcing between the two. Insulation that gets hot from too much current normally would be a continuous length of burn/discolor unless the wire is broken internally or possible arcing to a high voltage source at a contact point.
