Default Upgrading to a CS144 Alternator and Mark VIII fan. Need some info

I grabbed a rebuilt CS144 out of a '90 Deville at the bone yard. It's 120A. Good time to clean up some wiring in the car.

I'm thinking of replacing the wire from the ALT to the starter, then add another wire from ALT to a junction block on the firewall where I will tie in all the Black/Red, Black/Red/Red wires which currently splice together on the intake manifold. I will be eliminating the voltage regulator so I will have a spot for this and I'm not too concerned with it looking stock. I'm wondering what type/gauge wire I should run to the starter and to the junction block? Do I need a wire from the ALT directly to the battery?

The car has a DK BLUE and BLK SGL WHITE coming off the stock alternator as shown in the diagram. How do these wires connect with the CS144?

I also plan to jumper the regulator wires as shown in the picture. Is there anything else I need to do for this conversion? Will the idiot light still work?
