In 1969-70 in TN I would routinely buy one gallon of gas for my 2 stroke LawnBoy mower for 27 cents. Got about $1.25 for mowing a typical city size lawn. My Dad would give me the pre-mix oil for free. I could hang the gas can on my bars, and use one hand behind me to pull the mower as I rode my Huffy Cheater Slick to the job site
