It sounds like you are rebuilding the shortblock? If yes (with stock rods and new pistons or the forged pieces), strive for .040" quench through the combination of piston depth in/out-the-hole and head gasket compressed thickness. With your 8.5 to 1 compression the cam Cliff recommended or the 2801 would provide a soft lope that you want, but slightly hurt low end torque, but not by a bunch. If you run RA exhaust manifolds, also get the mandrel headpipes to tie into the rest of your exhaust, even if it is a 2 1/4" beyond the headpipe length. The exhaust gases will have cooled enough to not be restricted by the smaller pipe 4' down-stream.
I'd wager you're looking at an honest 330 hp/430 lb-ft with you combo.
