I just noticed on E-bay a Q-jet from China being offered with a front inlet float bowl. Comes with a pile of jets, gaskets, and multiple throttle arms. Being marketed specifically as a GTO replacement and Pontiac. 400-428 engines. Possibly in a couple years, after lots of feedback and complaints, it may be a usable part. Hard to say. The Chinese do seem to listen, modify and improve over time much like the Japanese. Eagle brand engine hard parts were just terrible and not usable at all as delivered to the US for the first five years or so. They have gradually improved to the point where I have to re-work about 10% of their stuff before use. These carbs may be a similar situation. At least they have a front inlet.
