Default SSS

Here are pics of Brad Koivisto's '74 Ventura & Michael Brand's '73 bird, from the SSS event.

Notice that the Vent has a flat hood, with no shaker scoop. But, it still has the GTO grill lights & GTO decals. So, I suppose all that is OK with NHRA, since he's been running it that way for a while now.

Michael changed over to the shaker hood/scoop when he switched to the SD455 engine. Considering the non-original set-up on the Vent, I wonder if the SD455 Formula could get by NHRA running the FG twin scoop Formy hood ?

It was suggested by a guy on the Class Racer site that Michael & his final round opponent MAY have decided to split the big pot, before the final round. That makes good sense to me. I think that's quite common at the big money bracket races.
