I think some of the Indian Adventures blocks were delivered with 3.25" mains. That would make a nice engine. Also a stock block 455 would be fine IMO with aluminum rods and light pistons. Probably want to keep the piston speed down a bit with that long stroke and high bearing speed. Properly built, it would be fine around 6500 RPM's. Tons of torque. Love to have that in a heavy street car.
