Took a closer look at your photo at the partial VIN stamp. 29U606xxx would be an OHC6 69 Firebird built at Lordstown, probably about June/July if a coupe. I don't recall if the base engine was offered with the Hurst, standard equipment would have been 3 on the tree, so this was likely from a Sprint.
Kind of almost makes me want it to try it in place of the 4 speeds I've acquired. My original was given away in the 70s by my dad, along with the ZH 3.55 Nodular posi.
