I don't rightly recall, and it was 20+ years ago so the price wouldn't be applicable today anyway. Check around to see if there are plating companies local to you. A major part of the cost of plating is in the preparation, so if yours have dents or rust it would be best to find some in nicer condition to start with.
I found this website for a plating shop in the Chicago area that says valve covers will cost in the range of $140 to $275:
