Jeff, Great to meet you as well, nice to put a face to a voice and fellow PYer.
I took 68BirdHO post to imply that a vert was only bringing 19K so a HT would be less $$. Hence my post. Nothing against 68Bird, just pointing out a few items as to why it sold for cheap, IMO.
Here are a few stats on 455 HO Lemans built in 1972.
There were ONLY 102 TOTAL Lemans' built with a 455 HO engine. Of those 102:
21 were Lemans GT's
81 were Lemans
Of the 21 GT's:
14 were HT (10 M22, 4 M40)
7 were convert (2 M22, 5 M40)
Of the 81 Lemans' built:
9 were Coupes (5 M22, 4 M40)
26 were Convert (No breakdown due to the fact Pontiac did not keep track of 3spd vs 4spd)
46 were HT (No breakdown)
Not sure on the 71 numbers, I haven't crunched those like I have with the 72's.
I certainly wouldn't take 19K for my 1 of 46 built 455 HO Lucy blue 4spd Lemans optioned with over 25 build sheet options including EVERY option in the WW5 GTO only option package. I would hope it would bring more than 19K, but it is only worth what someone is willing to pay!
