it's on the wrong side in your picture, it should go to the side of the bracket away from the starter.

Are you sure you've got the right clutch fork in there? It seems like it's not out far enough from the bell housing but maybe a trick of the angle and my memory. Possible that pivot bracket is bent out a bit making the angle worse? I didn't like the way that old style push rod fit on mine and also had issues with it bending so I upgraded to the heavy duty two piece set up, might help with your angle too.
