I had the RMS in my 1971 455 HO replaced with the Butler Performance Viton seal with the engine out of the '73 Fire Am and done by a professional engine shop. They installed ARP main studs and all new Butler Performance pan gaskets and reinforcement plates on the Canton 8 quart baffled road-race pan.
It still leaks but not as badly as the old seal.
