Engine 1972 455 block, 2 bolt mains w. ARP. All balance.

Bore/ Stroke 4.15"/ 4.21"; .+040" over.

Deck height Zerodeck.

Heads 1971 # 96, Matchport, Bowlport, Milled for 9.7 comp.OEM Valves.
Backcut, 3 angle, 30° in, 45° ex.

Valve Springs Crower CRO-68404 springs.

Rocker arms PRW Stainless 1.65 Ratio Roller Rockers.

Pistons Sealed Power forged +.040"; 9.7 cr with milled # 96 heads.

Rings Sealed Power, File Fit.

Rods RPM 4340 I beam Forge Steel w. ARP.

Crankshaft OEM 1970, .030/.030 under; Polish, Pontiac windage tray.

Camshaft Crower 60243, Adv. Duration 284/290. Dur @ .050”: 228°/235°, Lift
w. 1:65 Rocker 0,527”/.0,543”, LSA: 112°. Install at 109° ICL.

Lifters Speed Pro HT951R - Hi-Rev Hydraulic Lifters.

Bearings Clevite 77.

Oil Pump Butler Performance Pro Series 60psi, new pump drive shaft.

Fuel Pump Carter Street mechanical.

Intake 1971 stock cast iron, Portmatch. 0.5” 4-Hole Spacer.

Carburetion 1971 Quadrajet 750 cfm, Little modified.

Exhaust Hedman Standard Duty 1 3/4” Headers, X-Pipe, 3" pipes,
3,5" Apple Raceing mufflers, 3” over axle.

Ignition OEM Dist., Ignitor III with Ignitor Coil, 19 Initial, 34 degrees total in
by 2400 rpm. +Vac.advance.

Transmission TH 400, Trans Go kit, OEM Rebuild 13" 2500 stall converter
TCI-Flexplate.

Rear gearing 12-bolt Eaton limited slip, 3.08 Richmond gears.

Suspension OEM with old Gabriel Hi-Jackers and rear Swaybar.

Tire/wheels Cooper Cobra, 255-60R15 ; 215-65R15 on the front; TQ-II, 15x7 front,
15x7 rear + 1,5" wider inside

Weight Ca. 3800 pounds without driver.

Performance Dyno Dynamics chassi dyno. With smaller 1 5/8” almost flat
headers.
Flywheel power: 417hp. 515 tq. (699NM).

Read from 3800rpm. Trans downshifting under 3800rpm.


Dynosheet from this engine with small headers + my older version of the engine. New engine in Green and old engine in Blue. Same Dyno but different dates.

Older engine had untouch #96 (1971) heads and intake. Only 1 5/8" headers, 3" pipes and Comp Cams XE 262 installed at 108 ICL.
