Update...I recently pulled the 285 tires on 15 x 8 rally II off my car for bodywork. In the process of photographing the tires and measuring their section width to answer someone's questions, I found that I have been in error when saying the 15 x 8 rims have 5.50" backspacing. It is actually 5-3/8". Only 1/8" off, but if you had rims built to 5.50", they will be 1/8" closer to your frame rail than my application, which after trimming my wheelwell lips, perfectly centers the big tire with tight 1/2" clearance on either side.
I apologize for this oversight... I really could have sworn that back in 2004 I told Stockton wheel to make them 5.50"!
